If it were not 103 degrees I would have definitely been able to recall several Martini Moments yesterday as I attended the 2012 Sean John fashion show hosted by Ryan Cameron of v103 and Cynthia Bailey. The Bailey agency did a great job of casting for this event (even though I didn’t walk the stage). I don’t think they are ready for Nasim Your Host! Demetria McKinney to Join Jennifer Holiday in DREAMGIRLS at the MUNY

Well I will definitely have not only a drink to this news, but I think a TOAST is in order. Check out what was reported in the Broadway World News in St Louis 

This summer, original ‘Effie,’ Jennifer Holliday will return to DREAMGIRLS, playing the role at the MUNY in St. Louis. According the the MUNY’s official website,  Demetria McKinney to play the role as Deena, Milton Craig Nealy will star as Jimmy, Jenelle Lynn Randall as Lorrell, Muny veteran Ken Page as Marty, Christopher Jackson as Curtis, Karla Mosely as Michelle, and Tommar Wilsonas C.C.

DREAMGIRLS opened on December 20, 1981 at the Imperial Theatre. The show was nominated for thirteen Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical, winning six. It was later adapted into a motion picture from DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures in 2006, starring Hudson, Beyonce, Anika Noni Rose, Eddie Murphy and more.

Dreamgirls features a blockbuster score and the landmark song “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” with book and lyrics by Tom Eyen, and music by Henry Krieger.

I must admit when I first saw the tears rolling down this chick’s face on Love and Hip Hop as she told the story about my homie I had the pleasure of meeting, I knew something didn’t seem quite right.
